Training Programs

EMR South provides exceptional training.

Project Team Training:

On site training to work with your project team on implementation plans and explain build work for each module you plan to implement. An overview of each module is presented with options and work flows discussed. This training can be configured to be for new users to TouchWorks or even seasoned professionals.

Our Goal: Make Go-Lives successful.

Training Manuals:

Our trainers can create curriculum to match your workflow for any product. We understand people learn in different ways and we develop our training material for different learning styles. With this service we will come on site to observe and document your work flow and from what we learn customize your training to be practice/site specific. We also create role based training guides to not only help your users get up to speed quickly but have a quick reference guide available as well. As you upgrade to new versions your training materials can be updated at a discounted rate.

Train the Trainer:

After creating manuals we can assist you in either training staff or training your super users/ trainers so that you will have staff on hand to train new users and be self reliant. EMR South’s staff are always available for questions and special training classes as needed.

Our trainers are very knowledgeable, and in most cases they not only train on the system they use it to see patients. We have providers and clinical staff for some of our training sessions and for this reason these classes are generally held in Georgia or on our training cruises.

Specialty Training Classes:

EMR South conducts specialty training sessions through web casts, at your site, or in Georgia. Classes include System Admin Training (includes ConnectR and TWAdmin), Introduction to Note, Advanced Note, Intro and Implementing Orders and Results, Intro & Implementing MDCharge and Intro & Implementing Scan. Custom training is also available for GE Centricity Group Management from end user to administration, novice to expert. We are constantly adding additional classes. Be sure to ask if you do not see what you are looking for.

Web Question & Answer Sessions:

EMR South offers online consults where you can connect with a senior consultant through a web session to collaborate on a question or problem your clinic may be experiencing. We have also used this method to help with build questions and also to build text and medcin templates. This service also allows you to talk to a consultant before contracting with us to determine if we might be of assistance to your practice. Our overall goal is to help your practice be productive, if you have a question and we can help please feel free to contact us, if we do not know the answer we may know another practice that is similar to yours and be able to put you in touch with someone from there.

Go-Live and Training Success:

The EMR South team has been a part of over 50 clinic go-lives, supporting more then 250 providers consisting of many specialties, such as: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Rheumatology, General Surgery, Cardiology, Obstetrics Gynecology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Endocrinologists, Infectious Disease, Pain Management Centers, Sports Medicine, Urgent Care, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Oncology. We have a class that covers the tools and procedures we use to ensure quality, successful go lives and preparation for them.

Nurse Boot Camp:

Taught by nurses, this class gives nurses/medical assistants a primer on TouchWorks. But more importantly it gives tested and proven advice on change management, as well as how to involve your patients and capture useful information for your provider.

Acquiring and retaining qualified staff remains a significant challenge in EMR/IT Health Care management. Allow EMR South to help you find, train and mentor a candidate right in your area. Our mentorship program places a consultant on site with your staff member. Once onsite, our consultant will perform the staff members role while training that person to take over the role. During this time EMR South will document job duties, policies and procedures to ensure long term retention of the training. As your staff member progresses, our consultant will continue to be available to answer questions and help as needed, on or offsite.

Review of the current organizational assignment of responsibilities and authorities relative to the management of technology.

Examination of systems hardware, software, interface, network environment and documentation, including policies, procedures and standards.

Observe and document current work flows for each pod/specialty.
